University of Cincinnati (commonly referred to as UC or Cincinnati) is a comprehensive public research university in Cincinnati, Ohio, United States and is a part of the University System of Ohio. The university offers nearly 380 degree-granting programs and more than 230 certificate and minor programs across its 14 colleges and schools.[1] UC is classified as a research university with very high research activity by the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education.[2] The university enrolled more than 36,000 students, and it ranked 135 among national universities and 64 in "Top Public Schools" according to U.S. News & World Report's 2016 rankings.[3]
