LogicalDOC is web-based open-source document management software. The software comes in several versions: a free open-source Community Edition as well as fee-based commercial Business and "Enterprise & Cloud" Editions.
Product history
LogicalDOC has its origins in another open-source project called Contineo. That project was started by Michael Scholz in 2003 as a Java project in an attempt to create an "easy-to-use and easy-to-extend document management system."[2] Development on Contineo continued up to version 3.5, released in September 2008.[3]. That same month the lead developers of the Contineo project announced through the investments of a business called Logical Objects, the Contineo source code would be rolled up into a renamed project "LogicalDOC," with the open-source Contineo code comprising the LogicalDOC Community Edition.[4] The first LogicalDOC release arrived as version 3.6 on October 20, 2008.[1]
Awards and recognition
