Configuring ELab to e-mail reports
ELab allows for reports to be delivered via e-mail. Job templates are set up by LabLynx that perform this function. In order for the reports to be e-mailed from your site, the following changes need to be made to the template in order for the e-mail to go out:
- 1 Go to the System folder.
- 2. Open the Jobs folder and click on the Job Template menu item. A list of the COTS (in red) and custom (in blue) jobs that have been created for you will be displayed. Not all COTS jobs will automatically work without consulting LabLynx or your LIMS administrator. Some need additional configuring.
- 3. Click the job name that you wish to configure. You will be taken to the Add/Edit Job Template screen.
- 4. You will need to verify that all the required attributes for the job type have been set. In certain cases the E-mail To attribute is automatically set when the e-mail is sent. Three additional attributes you will want to update are as follows:
- Email Attachment (File Path On Server)
- Email SMTP Server (Required)
- Email From (Required)
- The "Email Attachment" attribute is the path of the report that is being attached to the email. This is the directory where the report template is stored on the server.
- The "Email SMTP Server" attribute is the name of your e-mail server.
- The "Email From" attribute is the from e-mail address you want displayed on the outgoing e-mail.
- 5. Once the changes have been made, click Save.
